The restaurant has been taken over by Robin, Karen, Marcus & Luisa Dornauf and is now ran by talented chef John Berryman.
Robin Dornauf started as a dairy farmer in the Meander Valley before starting a dairy company named Meander Valley Dairy, and is known by all people who have tried their products as one of the finest and of the best quality dairy goods on the market. Meander Valley Dairy specialises in Double Cream, Creme Fraiche, Clotted Cream, and Cultured Butters among other things. (all available at Stonesthrow)
Robin is also the producer of Meander Valley Berries which most people know as 'the strawberries from the Harvest market.' The 6 hectares of strawberries, all grown under tunnels in Hillwood are grown and maintained by Robins oldest son Simon, now in his second year of managing the expanding crop.
Marcus and Luisa are known in Launceston for owning the big blue taco truck, Tacos de Pancho. Marcus and Luisa were the first people to sell street food out of a mobile food van in Launceston, which has now become the new craze among foodies and restaurant businesses.
John Berryman is a very talented chef with a lot of experience in the industry. He has worked at a number of places both around Tasmania and Australia. He worked for the Country Club Casino for 15 years before becoming the Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm chef for 6 years. He has also worked at the Penny Royal Tavern, Colonial Motor Inn and Innkeepers.
